Brevard Hawaiian Dancers, also known as Hālau Ilima O Pololika (Florida) is a traditional Hālau (hula dance school) where students learn and grow their knowledge of not only Polynesian dance, but Polynesian cultures as well. We are a female owned Florida registered non profit organization, focusing on culture, education, families and community. We have 11+ years of teaching and entertaining our local community which has blessed upon us not only hundreds of show experiences but also winning many awards in competitions throughout the years. Every one of our owners has had the honor of dancing on the stage at the Merrie Monarch Festival as part of the very first group from Florida to do so in the history of the festival! Our founder, Kumu Christina “Chrissy” Uluwehi Sulfridge, has over 40 years of Polynesian dance experience, and we continue to perpetuate 'Ilima hula style. Our Halau is not just about hula dancing,as a member you will experience low impact exercise while learning traditional songs, dances, music, history and language of Hawaii, Tahiti,New Zealand,and Samoa.
