Nonosina was established by the late great, Estella "Nonosina" Reid affectionately known as "Gram". Gram was born in Faleniu, Am. Samoa and spent her early teen years in Lāʻie, Oʻahu. Gram started "Nonsoina" when she moved to California & there her legacy was born. Nonosina was eventually gifted to Gram's youngest daughter, Riki Liufau. Aunty Riki led Nonosina to new horizons and took the competition circuit by storm. In the late 90ʻs Nonosina was led by Aunty Rikiʻs son, Mevina Liufau. Mevina is an icon in the Polynesian music scene & his artistry took Nonosina to new horizons. Nonosina is currently under the direction of Mevina's sister, Tiana Nonosina Liufau. Tiana is a well known artist in the Polynesian community for her music, choreography & has brought Polynesian dance to the masses by working on Disneyʻs Moana & So You Think You Can Dance. Tiana's mantra is to not just make "good dancers but to make smart dancers". Tiana does so by diving into dance language, history, cultural concepts, protocol and practicing culture rather just performing it. #SeekMana
