Teva Oriata is Portland's only traditional Tahitian dance group (Pupu ‘Ori) that brings the color, vibrancy, and love of the islands to the NW with authentic dance performances done in handmade costumes to drums and melodies from across the waters. Weekly ‘Ori basics and intermediate classes are offered as well as beginner and intermediate hula workshops. Poi, fire poi, and Siva, costume making, and pehe/solo classes are offered on rotation. Traditional language, techniques, and translations of songs are incorporated to each class. Competition award winning soloists and group dancers.
